Saskatchewan Black Bear

SCROLL DOWN

Saskatchewan Black Bear

A high population on the rise

Conservation is key to a sustainable and healthy ecosystem. With a high population of black bears in Saskatchewan and a significant increase throughout the years, Wilderness Family Outfitters has the special opportunity to offer high quality and successful hunts. We specifically conduct our hunts in the months of May and June to make absolute sure that you go home with a bear of your life.

In the final months of hibernation, these bears often finds themselves scouring the land in search of food. With over 20 years of baiting bears in this area, these trophy black bears know exactly where to go and waste no time getting there. Not only are we able to control their eating habits, but we know the size, colour, and quality of coat for each specific bear; thanks to Muddy trail cameras on each bait site. This is important, especially when clients have specific requirements in mind. The lush and fullness of their fur make for the perfect rug or full mount, leaving no blemishes behind.

The WFO Black Bear Hunting Experience

Saskatchewan is home to some of the biggest black bears in Canada, with mature boars ranging anywhere from 250-500+ pounds in the spring and have skulls measuring at least 18 inches; that is why Wilderness Family Outfitters is the place to go for trophy black bear. We average anywhere from 250 to 350 pound bears, with green skull measurements around 19 8/16. Not only are these bears mature and perfect to harvest, they also range in colours from blonde, tan, cinnamon, brown, chocolate, and of course, blazed. We have found that roughly 30% of our total population possess some variation of colour phase, giving you a great opportunity at a colour phased black bear.

Wether you are a seasoned black bear hunter or have went out and tried your hardest with no results, we can make it easier for you to go home with an animal that you'll be proud about and have incredible memories to go along with it.

We have three options to make your experience exceed expectations.
